Predator Defense & Shotgun Handling
Cost: $610 (Note) | Course Length: 2 days | Min/Max # Students: 6/10
Predator Defense & Shotgun Handling is a 16-20 hour course designed for people who recreate and work in areas inhabited by bears, cougars, wolves and wolverines across remote geographical areas in Canada.
The course is broken into two critical segments: one day of depictive classroom based training enhanced with group discussion, and one day of scenario based practical training in a wilderness setting.
This program trains and rehearses candidates in a number of appropriate responses to encounters with potentially dangerous wildlife. These range from physical posturing through a number of non-lethal deterrents to the use of lethal force.
The shotgun training portion of this course is conducted under strictly controlled and safe conditions and includes the use of rubber bullets, bean bag rounds, shot and slugs.
The Non-Restricted Canadian Firearms Safety Course is not mandatory, but strongly encouraged.
