Road-Side Emergencies and Survival

This program provides critical information and hands-on training for workers who travel in remote areas and in sometimes severe weather conditions by road.
The classroom portion of training highlights the need for personal and agency level pre-trip planning. The client’s current pre-trip and contingency plans are reviewed and reinforced. Clients without formal plans, or looking to enhance their plans, will benefit greatly through the instructor led discussions and lectures.
Classroom training also includes wildlife hazards, slippery road surfaces and in-depth analysis of useful emergency clothing and survival supplies.
The majority of this program involves hands-on, practical skills including:
> Pre-trip vehicle inspections
> Tire inspections, changes and traction
> Introduction to use of 2, 4 and all wheel drive
> Introduction to becoming unstuck
> Roadside emergency scene management
> Emergency shelter
> Emergency signals
