Advanced Driver - Warm / Cold Weather

This program is part of our Advanced Driver training series. Training includes general Canadian driving situations but is highly tailored to our Territorial roadway system.

The classroom portion of training investigates environmental hazards the Northern driver will face according to the season and weather conditions. Basic and advanced strategies for pre-trip planning, recognizing dangers and implementing avoidance / coping strategies are a key focus of this training.

The in-car element tests knowledge and understanding by forcing the driver to make proactive choices through controlled scenarios on wet, dry, slick and/or gravel road surfaces while being assessed on performance. The driver will receive feedback and coaching throughout to improve vehicle operation on both urban and rural roadways.
