Approximately 60% of this training is spent in a vehicle practicing skid control techniques on a closed track.

The main teaching points include vehicle inspections, threshold and ABS braking systems, obstacle evasion, brake and avoid, swerve control, over steering and under steering problems. Candidates also learn to control and recover from both front wheel and back wheel drive systems.
