Backing

Designed to help reduce backing crashes and incidents, Safe Backing Performance includes an interactive classroom portion and an in-vehicle instructional session.

Training identifies backing hazards and provides coping strategies, techniques and manoeuvres to avoid these and other potential causes of crashes.
Open discussions deal with speed, blind areas and communication with other drivers. In-vehicle training conducted by experienced and qualified instructors investigates walk about prior to vehicle entry, correct backing procedures using staged obstacles and corrected drives and practices.
The practical section has three portions: Student observation, instructed drive and remedial drive.
